Red dots on pistols

Gotcha... sorry. Been a long day... had dental surgery yesterday and wife says I’m feisty... sorry for my miss-understanding.

Ole boy? Irresponsible? Simmer down Frances.
He’s high(presumably), he made the disclaimer. I vote he gets a pass haha.

I guess I also need a can of compressed air as my red dot is not a clear circle. The instructions that came with Romeo zero mentioned the compressed air may fix that. I’ve looked through red dots before and don’t have astigmatism

I felt the same way until I trained with a couple. Like anything else, training makes the difference. It does make it easier to acquire the target since there is only 1 plane to focus on, instead of 2 like irons. I like that I can also focus on the target through the dot.

Dots are also easier for people with diminishing eye sight and I've noticed novice shooters are more accurate with them. It all comes down to training and preference.

1. It won’t fail most likely
2. There are points of reference to use in conjunction with the window. Front of the pistol.
3. I shoot quite a bit and know where I am pointing. If the dot fails- and that is a HUGE if- I will not be able to make headshots at 25 yards fo sho. Risk vs reward- I am willing to take the risk it will not fail.
4. It won’t fail most likely

You can really get into the what if’s in this world.

Do you shoot red dots? What brand?

All of what you posted is time on the (range and training) to understand there your Point of Reference (POR) is with your dot in relationship to the barrel.

I don’t believe your hitting anything without a set of sights should that dot fail except 3-5 maybe 7 yards. They all will at some point as they are electronic. Point shooting is easily done within a reasonable range span and the user’s technique is practiced and practiced and practiced.

I can’t remember if you said you shoot with BUIS or not.... I hope you ha e them on there...

I do. I have Triji’s, and Vortex, 2 of each... I prefer the vortex over the Triji’s... the only think I don’t like about the Triji’s is how thick the piece is around the window....they are great optics.

I am certainly no master of the RDS however I can hold my own. To say that I am would be a boldfaced lie.

Respectfully
Chris
