I want to argue but I don't want to read 27 pages worth of posts so if you don't have a quality dot on your pistol, fix yourself. If you're deliberately denying the dot because you'd rather argue and stick to antiquated aiming systems out of spite, do a lap. If you denounce the dot on carry guns yet have one on a rifle, go headbutt a wall. I'm right, you're wrong. Anyone that disagrees with me is a pleb that doesn't even operate.
I have no words for the boastfulness and arrogance of this drivel....things break no matter the cost....or even a lemon comes off the line every now and again...You and November Sierra turned this into a mine cost more than yours???Really???Thats almost as bad as "My Dad can beat yours up!!!! and equal to "My D#%%k is bigger than yours....Mr.Bulletslinger is giving good advise and your youth..arrogance...not been there and done that or all three ate showing. The man believes in MRDS and all they offer..even has one on his daily carry..but and its a Huuuuge one evidently, is that he runs his with a solid set of BUIS.Good advice...Im sure most guys who go into harms way fequently do the same. Its like you two think your less of a bad ass operator if you dont run just an optic.Havnt quite figured it out just what it is yet...but neither of you have offered definitive proof or reasons why you shouldnt have one.Dont you two want all the odds stacked in your favor?Dont you want to have planned for every contingency? My guess is you dont like irons to this level is because you dont shoot them well.Hell you guys act like you hate um using words like antiquated.Looks lile Mr.Bulletslinger"who trains people for a living,is leaving you two to your own hard headed demise.Im happy to anytime guage how poorly you two shoot iron sights anytime at my local range. You can be my guests...wont cost a nickle...just bring an iron sighted handgun of your choosing and ammo..with a little pocket change to loose on a friendly wager of course..LOL!!!We can see these skill sets on irons you two must posses to cast them aside so recklessly.Say bullseye at 20-25 yards.Serious offer.Who knows...may be a learning experience for us all..Let me know in a PMOnce you get a Trijicon RMR and stop using the cheap stuff you’ll soon realize it isn’t going to magically just break. Those instances are common among the “budget” red dots.
I challenge you to come back to this conversation once you have quality gear and a respectable amount of time using and abusing it.
I’d go out on a limb and say 99.99999% of people who utilize a Trijicon RMR on this forum have not had a failure, but those who use the budget brands have at a much higher percentage.
For the same reason I choose Aimpoint optics for rifle red dots I also choose the Trijicon RMR for my handguns.
The chance of it failing is so small that I’m willing bet my safety and life that my firearm or ammunition would fail before either of those will.
Budget optics are not something you mess with if you are actually depending on it to work all the time.

In my experience shooting RMR'd pistols in 2-Gun matches I don't even see the shape of the body. When I'm hauling ass, target focused and shooting all I see is a dot on my target. If I'm shooting B8s without a time limit then, yes, absolutely see the thicc body.Down side to the Triji (I own and shoot with them) the window is very small and the outer edge is very thick (not needed) and cost. Unless you train consistently with them the Dot is not as easy to pick up as in some other RDO like the Vortex Viper.
The Viper have a wider FOV lending its FOV & clarity a bit easier to pickup the dot thus TOT is faster..... I have both and I shoot both...
But in some folks thoughts, quality = big money needing to be spent.....
