Hello all. Looking for some opinions. I'm new to reloading here. Just got my first setup and the only bullets and powder I could find in stock were Laser Cast 240gr SWC and Alliant Red Dot Powder.

Alliants web site lists a 240 gr. LSWC load using 6.5 grains of Red Dot with a CCI 300 primer at 905 FPS.
Not many published loads for Red Dot in a 44 Magnum...

Has anyone here ever used this load? Right now just wanting to work on target loads and once I get familiar with it, and more powder becomes available work up some heavy loads with 2400 or h110.

Any thoughts or recommendations??

Once you get some jacketed bullets, you will want a powder like 2400, Blue Dot, Long Shot, HS 7, 800x, H110, W296, H4227 or IMR4227. There are a lot to choose from.

Don't try to squeeze too much velosity out of RedDot.
