I found this in the safe brought back memories. So what do you have to share.

it's not that old, is it? The box looks like it could be late 1970s to early 1980s, but the price is rather high. I would expect $2.09 for a box of 50 ordinary .22LR rounds to be a late 1980s or even 1990s price.
 
Yeah, 99 cents for a little 50-pk of .22 and you had to sign the book at Kmart...

I think it's mid 80's but im not sure. I do remember buying ammo at Western Auto for less than a dollar. I also remember as a kid shooting with my dad and for me big game was hunting fuzzy tailed tree rats. But my shooting stories only go back a little over 40 years as I'm only 49.

I looked it up Federal has this box and lot number made in 73. But the price tag is high so I must have bought it in the 80's.
 
I went to the hardware store and got change for my buck in the early 70's.
Old guy told me about going to the hardware store during the depression and buying 410's or 22's individually, but he also had some really questionable fishin' stories, so who knows.
