Remington 742 malfunctions

Put some poop steel wool on your cleaning rod add solvent and spin it in the chamber. Most malfunctions are caused by a dirty chamber.

Try firing it without the mag installed….see if it ejects.

I would make sure that it’s clean and lubed. Maybe try a new mag. Not a lot you can do with a 742 Jam-Master.

Yep. Blow out and clean the piston with forced air..this area hardly erea never receives a theral cleaning.

It's get one every time I clean it now -- A very good cleaning

My automatic 742 is not functioning properly. It will not extract and replace with new shell. I have replaced with new parts and same outcome. I’m bumfuzzelled. And no factory to sent it to. Gunsmith has examined with no success.

Chamber needs polishing out.
