First Colt, now Big Green. Hopefully they will use this as a chance to get the heck out of NY.

Remington is seeking debtor-in-possession financing that will allow it to fund is operations once it files for bankruptcy, the sources said. The size of the financing and timing of Remington’s bankruptcy plans could not be learned.

What a shame having grown up in Upstate NY in the 60’s and 70’s.. Everybody has a Remington or an Ithaca.. I got to tour their Ilion NY plant as a kid...

Every gun manufacturer that has stayed in the Northeast has gone under or moved manufacturing out of NY or CT....

Well the Remington 700s, 788s, 870s, and 1100s work...

700? Really? One of the longest running and probably most expensive recalls in firearms history...

The new 870s are not up to the old standards. You need to go back 10-15 years to find a good one. Kind of like Marlins... which are owned by... oh yeah.

R51?

RP9?

Bushmaster? Take a great AR and make it into a competitor for DPMS at the low-end?

Remington has been screwing up for a decade or more now. About the only thing they seem to still be good at is ammo ... well, except for the 22 'golden bullet', but that was always bad.

Honestly, the best thing they could do would be to sell themselves to some actual gun guys who could resurrect the brand. Otherwise, the next bankruptcy will be right around the corner, and it'll be the same Ch 7 Colts facing these days.

Man, this is sad. I was raised on Big Green firearms. 1100 shotgun, single shot .22 rifle, and a 30-06 742 Woodmaster.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more badly run business over the past decade or so. Horrible decisions, horrible products...just damn.
