Remington Model 11 - replacement barrel problem

ODT,
I have a Remington model 11 - great condition and great shooter with 28" barrel. Use it for sporting clays.
Bought a replacement barrel - 20". Will barely fit in receiver and don't want to force it. This would be a great wild pig gun. Barrel Has serial number of 221,xxx. My original has number of 44XX.
Does anyone really know model 11's? Looked over Internet - not addressed that I can find where Remington changed barrel design.
I would appreciate any help.

That doesn't look like a # 11 to me..

Model 11 and 1100 barrels are not interchangeable..


And model 11 barrels can be pricey

The gun pictured is a pump. A mod 11 is a semi auto.
