Remington 870 barrel swap question

ok ODT faithful. Who among you knows which barrels are compatible? I have an older late 60's Wingmaster with a 30" barrel and Id love to to put a 26" or 28" on it. Its a 2 3/4 only. I have a 90's 28" spare but Im not going into this all half cocked. Ive grown fond of my hands and fingers and would enjoy keeping them all together for a little while longer.

all the year ranges? Calling them was my next option. Before they got sold this last time they had an awesome group of guys that would help with all kinds of questions.

Remington has removed the index from their site for liability issues I'm sure. They did have a resource, it's probably buried on the inner web somewhere

I did a couple searches and the info was all over the map.

It was good for the barrels that I checked. I’m not positive about your barrels.
Calling Remington would be a good thing to do.

I own 3 870s, One is an older beautiful 1983 Wingmaster, 2 3/4" 30" full choke vent rib
The other 2 are post 2000 with magnum receivers.
I have about 6 barrels Ranging from 18," 20", 24", 30 ," Rifled barrel 2 3/4 " chamber.
They all interchange with all the receivers.
One thing to watch !! A magnum barrel WILL mount to a non magnum receiver !
I dont know if it would cycle and fire a 3 inch shell, I never tried.
