How many total hours would you guess it took?
I have a Stevens that I want to restore and your post provides encouragement. :cool:
I don’t think this project is a good case study on time. This was a “basket case” by every definition. I fiddled with “ungluing” the forearm from the barrel w/o damaging the wood for at least 20 man hours spread across several months. All of the metal was covered in rust and the factory mud finish was obliterated. All of it was stripped to the bone and refinished by hand over time. I made the recoil pad from a flip flop, etc….If it didn’t have enormous sentimental value to one of my very best friend’s it would be in the garbage.

All total counting my amateur status in efficiency I would guess 60 hours.
