Replace or Repair Water Supply from Meter

I have a copper line from the meter to my house approximately 50 ft long. It has a leak that is not drastic, but obviously needs repair. Do I have to replace, or can I just sweat in a coupling?

Should be able to sweat in a repair couplng or even a clamp on repair patch. The question is the integrity of the rest of the run.

my take would be on how hard it is to find, get to and fix and is the rest of the line ok. Otherwise, rent a ditch witch, get some copper and go to work !

We use them to tap copper lines (union)for sprinkler systems,quick and easy to slip over a split/leak.

I did not know this...of course i am a mechanic, not a plumber. Although i got the butt crack fer it im sure

I'm no plumber but have tore up a copper water line a time or two.

Should be easy to find by digging down at the wet spot on my lawn. Thanks for the input fellas. I think the pipe is about 2 ft underground. Tomorrow, I'll do a little digging. I was uncertain if a coupling would stand up to street pressure as this is obviously prior to the PRV.
