Reptiles for beginners

Everyone who comments on ball pythons and their activity needs to know that they are nocturnal animals in nature. Most of the time the one in the tank comes out right after the sun goes down. He is in exploration mode right now. The others are in a rack system, so they are visible a lot of the time. One thing to think about if you get a snake is what food will cost you. Live rats and mice can get expensive unless you raise your own.

My youngest son was into Ball exotic Pythons, bought 1 got a girlfriend and says dad the snake is yours , and moved out, his name was Spike . I had just found ODT I gave it to a guy on this site he says he still has it. Best bet to find a snake you want there are Reptiles shows everywhere coming up, look in local area, good luck. Like , I always say my youngest son is a dumbass.

Go to the reptile show to look at what you like. Prices are very high (even for ODT) compared to buying online. BTW, anything you see, you can get the exact reptile for about 1/2 the price from them on Morph Market from same vender (so get business cards). Also, know that baby ball pythons are brighter and more colorful than their adult version most of the time. If you want something colorful, banana morphs tend to keep their yellow colors well. Picture above is a banana morph and is about 800+ grams.

My son is 3 and waaaay into snakes and lizards. Does anyone know a reputable company or big expo that sells reptiles? We are in Gainesville, FL so maybe a big traveling expo or a place to order from. It’s important that it’s a reputable company for animal welfare.

I am looking at ball pythons, hog nose snakes, and bearded dragons. Any other recommendations?
After he gets good at it get him a croc-l-gator...croc head on one end and a gator head on the other end...can't poop so they are means as hell.
