Rifle Tripod

If you get the manfrotto 322 ball head, it will allow you with one hand to maintain stability on the tripod and position your rifle at any degree/ angle you would like while maintaining a stable platform provided your tripod is adjusted to the proper height and you’re in a proper firing position.

If you go the Hog saddle rout, it is an investment. The way I see it, if you build your own at 40.00, you will build multiples over the course of a year because DIY‘s are typically not durable enough nor are they rigid enough to handle the load of the weapons plus the load you place on that weapon if you do any preloading as some do. The durability of a DIY tripod is typically very flimsy and most folks use camera tripods. Not to say that all camera tripod your garbage however The ones you find at the local Wally world will absolutely bust on you in a heartbeat. Plus they don’t take the terrain like you think they may take the train. Spending $100 on this tripod or a comparable pod will be well worth your money and time, time being the biggest thing here.

yes sir, I’d much rather spend the money once than multiple times. The saddle is 3x’s the price of the legs. That just surprised me. I figured it would be opposite or maybe comparably the same price.

About the cheapest is a Slik pro 700 at around $100. The Hog Saddle tripod is a painted Slik. Then you need a ball head. $150+.

No, ball heads are cheaper. Look at the link I provided . Recommend to call and ask questions prior to purchasing used.

My ball bead from Manfrotto is used off eBay and bought it for 45.00. I asked lots of questions prior to purchase.

$150 is on the very inexpensive end for what is being used on shooting tripod setups. Can it be done cheaper? Sure. But you are giving up stability. Matters at range. At 500 yards, not as much. Esspecially if just hunting

I think we’re both saying the same thing but you’re misunderstand me. I think the trip is priced well. The hog Saddle MOD 7 caught me by surprise at $309. The pig-0311 Is $138.

based on their brand id go with the pig saddle and the pig legs.
