Warmouth brim is what I always called them.Rock bass have the same blue streaks around the mouth and red eyes, right?

Red eyes is right, I've always been told that

colorē up like a shellcracker...its in the sun perch family I would guess.

Grandaddy would call that a stumpknocker. Very good eating....

I agree its a Shell cracker Rock Bass have red eye GreeN to nearly black More a river& creek fish

And in South Ga and other locals they Call a bass a Trout and Crappie White Perch go figure

View attachment 839944 i have a pond in south Alabama, I never put any fish in it the pond.it is 9 yrs old about 4 acres, it starts at a creek. I catch catfish a lot but the only other kind of fish I catch is these I'm pretty sure it's a rock bass. Right?
