I like my rockys, but wear timberlands at work.

Get you some Red wings guys. 300 dollar pair of boots but they will last you the rest of your life. I wear mine daily.

Rocky used to make nice boots here in the United States. Now they just hawk Chinese junk to the mass market (and US government).

Frye Harness for day to day awesomeness

I have Rockys that I have had for years, still good. I've worn Ga boots with good results as well. Look at where your Ga boots are made.....

Red Wing boots for sure. I have some I wear for work and have had them for 2 years and still holding up.

I wonder what causes them to break down? Usually rubber doesn't just "go soft". A chemical could cause it.

I'm not sure but I know Remington had a problem with some of their limbsaver recoil pads going to mush. I thought CLP had melted it till I looked around on line. At least they owned up to it and will replace em under warranty.
