Ruger LCP or S&W BG380?

I had a Gen 1 LCP traded it away and went and bought a Gen 2 LCP. Still have it. Tried to sell it but couldn't talk myself into it. It's the perfect gun for deep conceal.

The newer (Gen. 2) LCP is a much improved version, primarily the trigger, but in .380 my favorite is the new Glock 42 (kind of expensive & hard to find though).

The two former guns are a bit easier to conceal in the pocket but I've found that with the right holster theres not much of a difference between the three... until time to shoot/ handle them A LOT.

Any one of the three should be reliable so it pretty much comes down to personal preference.

I've owned both, and I still own the LCP (if that tells you anything). :)

The S&W is a very quality built firearm, the laser is kind of a gimmick IMO (it might help with target practice, kinda fun to fool with, but has ZERO real world use). The deal breaker is the S&W Bodyguard has ***THE WORST*** trigger of ANY gun I've ever shot, and I've shot a mess of them.

IMO, buy a Gen 2 LCP and don't look back.
I liked the feel of the LCP over the bodyguard and went with the LCP ,I'm not trying to change the original post but how can i tell what gen it is though?

The easiest way is the serial number. It will have no dash in it. It will be all numbers. The sights are taller and the hammer now rest at about the half cocked position. The trigger pull is about half the length of pull of an older gen 1. Budsgunshop.com has the stainless slide for $329 and the all black for $309 with free shipping. Find a free ffl transfer and you will score.
