My brother has a Ruger M77 he is considering selling and I need to know an approximate value. I've done searches but the prices are all over the place. All it says is M77 270 win. It also has a synthetic stock that has been spray painted camo and a BSA 3-9x40 scope.

In that condition, maybe 300 bucks. Spray paint is next to impossible to ever completely remove from plastic stocks.

It's an original 77RL. Those were very popular in the mid 80's. I can't really tell much about the overall condition from the pic, but some folks will pay premiums for the original tang safety model in 95% + shape.

If it's well used or just in average shape, $400.00 to $450.00. Others will look at it as just another Ruger deer rifle that they can buy a new one at Wally world for $350.00.

No disrespect but it will likely sell better without the BSA.
