Ruger sickness

not sure if this is the right place to ask but if someone wanted to buy a Ruger American in 300 blackout and then either cut the barrel shorter (say, 10-12"?) and/or replace the stock with something shorter/more fitting what would be the plan?

1st - this would make it an SBR and require paperwork.
2nd - you would need someone to properly cut, crown and thread the barrel (5/8x24) in the right way.
3rd - Modify the stock for the shorter barrel!

for sure. I've got a few other lowers and stuff that I will probably SBR once the tax goes away (and see how some other cases might swing). I've had other barrels cut/thread/crowned in the past, not too $$.
I looked around and it seems like the MDT LSS XL chassis lets you keep the AR mags. some of the chassis I looked at convert the action to AICS mags. I've got plenty of 308 sizes AICS but wanted to keep the AR mags if shooting blackout.

"No honest man needs more than a ten round magazine." - Bill Ruger - Who was instrumental in the '94 AWB and mag ban. Ruger is not a friend to the civilian gun community, wanting to own one, while it may seem a sickness, it really outright ignorance. But then Ruger owners probably use paypal and halmark cards too. Ask yourself "Why one cannot buy a new 30rnd mini 14 mag from Ruger?" The gun community put them out of business once, I guess then next gen will need to be betrayed again for them to figure it out. Fool me twice?

It's now been seven days since you posted this drivel and it still hasn't garnered much interest, but I'll bet you are still patting yourself on the back and wallowing in 30-round magazine wrappers. Enjoy!
