Out of Fuel
One of the Air Force’s elite Thunderbird pilots crashed Thursday 2 June 2016 following a flyover for the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony.
The reason he crash landed in a field, was that he ran out of fuel
The Press and our government have been hiding the cause. The President of the United States (POTUS) and his team would not let the aircraft return to Peterson AFB for some incomprehensible reason.
db
- T-Bird performances are choreographed to the second
- Team took off on time, but was sent to the hold as POTUS was running behind schedule
- POTUS then spoke for approximately 20' longer than planned
- Team performed
- Following performance, team was directed to hold again
(POTUS security detail would not allow them to land due to POTUS movement at airport...this is SOP)
-- Secret Service ground coordinator usually is with ATC during events like this, and SecServ has the hammer on all movement within an "x" mile radius of POTUS
- #6 flamed out en route to the runway in defiance of POTUS security coordinator
- Another T-Bird possibly flamed out either on very short final or after landing
- Remaining 4 jets declared emergency and landed after giving the proverbial middle finger to SecServ who was directing them to continue to hold
(unsure on the exact sequence of the above three bullets)
- Rumor was that #1 was fired, but he either was not fired or was quickly reinstated
- Rumor was that the remainder of the show season was canceled...either bad rumor or that guidance was rescinded
- #6 is cleared to fly as soon as he is mentally and physically ready to do so...this is a direct paraphrase of what #1 just was quoted in an interview saying
Points to Ponder:
- Running out of fuel in an aircraft is one of the cardinal sins of aviation...a fast ticket to the ground-pounder world
-- #6 is back to flying status in record time...
- The buck stops at the commander...sq/cc's get fired for much less than the utter lack of flight discipline running an airplane out of gas displays...
-- Lt Col Hammond is still Thunderbird #1 and giving interviews, and the remaining show season is set to resume
Editorial:
- Stand by for potentially one of the greatest Safety Investigation Board / Accident Investigation Board whitewashes in Air Force history...
