I hadn't really planned on blueing anything with my schedule lately, but I found myself in a class that I have to give a one hour presentation on something. So I thought to myself I could stretch rust blueing onto an hour between things needed, metal prep, and rusting/boiling. Then I remembered I had deleted almost all of my pics from previous guns. And I didn't want to steal/borrow any pictures so I am documenting this gun for the class and the ODT member

And so in my quest for another project 22 another member asked if I would rust blue his Winchester model 67. The Rifle he learned to shoot with. So here is what we have, a nice old .22 with some patina and some blueing wear in places showing silver areas. at some point someone replaced the front sight with a newer one. But the none the less this rifle has no pitting and I would 98% of the chrome on the trigger and bolt are intact. So here are the before pics of the metal.

Here are pics after degreasing and sanding with 400 grit paper. Gonna hit the metal with a chemical stripper now along with some steel wool. Then a good rinsing and another final degreasing session and I should be able to apply the Pilkington's after it dries off.

Looking at the trigger guard during sanding and he original roll marks from the 1930's are still present under the old blue and patina.

I finished the first rust, boil, and carding. It already has some nice color. With a 400 grit finish you get a very fine rust. Will post some pics later this evening.
