S0 You Want to Own a Gun Shop and Range....

Do you want to ruin your passion for something? Go into business with it.

Very rarely do the Folks who make it in the biz they love.....im not sayng it dosent happen but the odds are stacked way against you.

If you do make it, you usually wish you wouldnve done something else.

Try to get a gunshop owner to go shooting for leisure....

As someone who was a manager for a range/gun store for 2 years. I would never own both, and work there. I think if you did one or the other it would be okay. But as far as the clients, cheapskates that gun owners are, and tire kickers or inexperienced safety hazards go, it is a very headache intensive work environment. And dealing with the ATF during audits or NICS stuff, is never fun.

If you love something, never work in that industry. It will certainly kill the enjoyment, especially at the retail level.

That being said, I need a job in the gun industry. Wish I was at SHOT.
il send you some pics brother

The SHOT SHOW is way over rated. It's great fun for the people that just want to look, but for the buyer it's a nightmare. The smaller shows are much more productive unless you're working huge deals or selling/showing. On that note the NRA show is in Atlanta this year......so there's that.

Oh I wouldn't go as a buyer, just for fun. Being a buyer and dealing with physical shows are no fun. Online shows are the way to go.

Been in a few times. Poor selection of firearms with even worse prices. Employees were anywhere from unhelpful to downright rude. They will not be missed
