Sad day for the bluebirds

If you make a tube out of hardware cloth, with sharp ends exposed, and use it to line the entrance, it will really discourage the snakes and squirrels. Birds will fly right through it.

I love bluebirds, but hate having mice. We went from being overrun with mice coming out of winter to literally zero rodent droppings by May. There were hickory nuts/husks in the air box of my truck where they were stock piling ( I drive the truck every day), my neighbor had the air filter completely chewed up in his truck, and I couldn't start up the four wheeler without mice springing out of it. The snake is there doing its share of population management.
