Sapelo Island Ferry closed to quota hunters.

I put in for this years Sapelo Island Deer hunt and was dismayed to learn that the ferry was no longer available to hunters. Evidently private boat is now the only option for hunters to get to the island. Does anyone have any intel as to why this discussion was made? I have been multiple times in the past and have always been able to reserve the ferry.

Maybe that's the goal. I did find someone to take us out there this year if we get drawn. He charges 150 per person which I thought was reasonable.

How much was the ferry? Sounds completely political to me. Completely wrong!!
