I can tell you why from first hand experience.

They’re racist down there and I have the story to prove it.
They don’t like white outsiders coming there to hunt especially the church parishioners and they will tell you this to your face with murder in their eyes.

I put in for this years Sapelo Island Deer hunt and was dismayed to learn that the ferry was no longer available to hunters. Evidently private boat is now the only option for hunters to get to the island. Does anyone have any intel as to why this discussion was made? I have been multiple times in the past and have always been able to reserve the ferry.

Main reason GaDnr went s$&$& former DNR commissioner is over Jekyll Island commission now . I guess some Anti Hunter types had say in it
