Savannah Mall shooting

I don't know if y'all missed this last night, but I couldn't find it on here. Happened right down the street from my gym. It's typical for the "gangs" to shoot it out downtown but this was right at our front door!! Watch out Macon, Savannah is just 2% behind you as far as violence.

Macon already had an incident similar to this at the Macon Mall about 10 years ago. Shooting in what was left of the mall/food court. One young thug died. And almost immediately after that the folks that owned the mall GAVE it to the City of Macon. I know what happened. The owners wanted to unload the property but nobody wanted to buy it. So they gave it to the city and took the multi-million dollar write off.
It's a shame that the era of the indoor shopping mall is dead but there's a very valid reason for it.

There was a time a decade+ ago when Savannah led the nation in murders.
Yeah I have watched several videos on the worst places to live in GA and it's a mystery how Savannah and Macon are never on the lists. Most of them include crime and poverty stats. So you get the usual suspects like East Point, College Park, Albany and Cordele. But somehow Macon and Savannah don't make the cut. Hell, even Brunswick makes the list most of the time. And Brunswick is just little Macon by the sea.

Savannah crime reporting is suppressed as the city/state want the tourist dollars

I was born/raised in Savannah - career took me away. My mom used to ask if I would retire in Savannah - love you mom, no.

When me and the wife worked at the Brunswick port we had the police scanner app on our phones. It used to go off all the time. It was usually the local Democrats fighting and tearing up a McDonalds or Walmart. Sometimes it would be shootings on the Alphabet streets off 17 behind the big Winn Dixie.
Anyway NONE of that **** ever made the news. I guess one reason for that was that Brunswick is a stepchild city wedged between Savannah and Jacksonville that didn't even have a local TV station and barely had radio stations. But part of it was that Glynn Co tourist people didn't want it to make the news. But you probably already know that there are some real ****ty dangerous parts of Glynn Co.

Then they learned to hide the bodies better…
Back then the hood rats would leave you for dead, take your shoes and throw you in the river. I think they finally crossed the line when a drunk Ranger out of Hunter Army Airfield had this happen and the cops finally cracked down cause the of the Army's influence.

Yes, I believe Brunswick is considering changing their motto to "****ty by the Sea".
