Savannah Mall shooting

IMG_3627.gif

Celebrating the 4th of July

Back then the hood rats would leave you for dead, take your shoes and throw you in the river. I think they finally crossed the line when a drunk Ranger out of Hunter Army Airfield had this happen and the cops finally cracked down cause the of the Army's influence.
The drug gang had a "kill somebody" to join requirement. Prospective member gunned down a middle class working father and husband going home from work. Suddenly, Savannah/Chatham County got serious after the explosion of taxpayer anger.

Yes, I believe Brunswick is considering changing their motto to "****ty by the Sea".
I still like it pretty much anywhere along Hwy 17 from the McIntosh Co line all the way to Waverly. In fact I like it a LOT better at the southern end. And I still dig Woodbine and St Mary's the most. I don't know what's up with Kingsland, maybe it's the Naval base there . It just gives off a very urban sorta West Macon vibe to ME. Maybe I just ain't seen the good parts. Never looked up the stats but I know Camden Co has to be much better off in every category than Glynn Co.

Wow, if the mall shooting wasn't enough. I guess the hood rats weren't finished and took their beef outside.

It's not unique to Savannah or even Macon. I would suggest that you take a stroll through Southlake Mall in Clayton Co but you probably already know better. Southlake was way ahead of the Macon Mall as far as the down hill ghetto slide. And yet for some reason when I drive by it now I see new construction going on one end of it . Someone must be very optimistic or just needs to show a loss of a few million.
When I was a teenager I went to Lenox Square a few times and I thought that was THE **** as far as malls went. Last time I was up that way I didn't even stop and get out. I could see the jungle from the parking lot.
My last daughter loves most 80s stuff and I want to take her up to the Mall of GA while it's still okay so she can see what a functioning mall should look like.
