Sbr?

Change my vote. Not an SBR, will not fire. The kit is held in place by the chamber. With no chamber, the whole kit will move forward when you try to fire.

Yes and no. Just dry fired it using snap caps and it fired fine. The only issue I see is that yes the kit can move forward which may hinder the cycling.

It damn sure will fire if it is somehow held in place.

I remember that thread about the guy who dropped his kit and wound up with a hole in his leg. No chamber required. It may not cycle, but it damn sure will fire once.

Right, but I think the kit will get pushed out if the way by the hammer before the hammer hits the firing pin. Without the chamber the kit will probably not be aligned perfectly. Too far forward or too far back and the hammer pushes the whole thing forward without ever contacting the firing pin.

As far as it blowing up, will not happen. The 22 chamber is outside of the 5.56 barrel anyway. The chamber for the 22 sits back inside the upper a whole inch shy of the barrel. IF it woulda fire, it won't do any damage to the gun.
