So in the coming weeks I might be visiting some family down in Mexico. They live in Mexico City, D.F. Not a terribly dangerous place but, its not terribly safe and I'm designing my edc for it. So far its: inexpensive gshock, leatherman wave, and streamlight. (Ignoring documents, phone, etc.)
I want to include an ifak. I want something small that I don't have yo carry in a backpack that someone might rob me of. That is, if I get stabbed and my backpack stolen, I still want to have the bloody ifak. I've seen a couple of 'pocket' ones but, they all cost about $100 and include a tq, gloves, and a quickclot. Whereas the one that includes the npa tube, decomp needle, and some other stuff is $120 from ITS Tactical. Why is the one with less stuff not that much less? Should I just buy the more equipped kit, keep the essentials in my pocket and the rest in my backpack? And... what do I really need in an ifak. Anything I know I've learned from RECOIL.
