Scorpions in GA?

Found 1 in a school in Lilburn.

Have always seen them around my area here in West Ga. Never have been hit by one though, glad to know the sting is not that bad.

Just a brown scorpion. I've been stung, like a bee sting, not terrible.

I've seen them for at least 35 years in the northern ATL area (Marietta) and further north (Cartersville, Canton, Cumming, Gainesville). Since the middle 1980s.

My brother and cousin were both stung at different times by these little 1.5" long scorpions.
They said it was like a bee sting. Painful, but no medical care needed. Just curse a bit and keep on working.

Had these growing up in Gwinnett. Just saw one in my friend's shop in Walton going under his lift last year. They're around for sure. Never been stung by one though.

First time seeing one here in GA. Saw them in CA while mountain biking. Good to know the ones here ain't poisonous

Good to know the ones here are not "venomous". If one is eaten, it may be poisonous.
