I was mowing roads on my place Sun, getting ready for deer season, and found a fresh scrape line. Seems kinda early in the year to me but hey, who am I to complain! ...trying to figure out how to get a stand in the area now so I can try my luck in the area with the crossbow.

They scrape year round. It just gets more intense from late September to December.

I remember the scrape that my Father and I found during turkey season one year. It was rank smelling and was littered with deer tracks. First year round scrape that I had ever seen

What I stumbled upon was about 50 yards or road with approx 6 plate sized scrapes. None looked really old or heavily used but all had been hit in the last week.

I bet you'll get some bucks on camera there. May be worth a sit or two once the season opens too.

Yep, planning on opening archery season in this area this year!

I've been in class all week. I would really like to be able to go down there to scout a bit but I'm too darn busy. I went ahead and hung my climber in a well used travel corridor for opening morning. This spot has always been productive for us in the past. We'll see how it goes.
