Hey everybody. I will be on a tasking for work and will have a good amount of down time. I will be in Dahlonega for about 20 days. I plan on doing some prospecting while I am up there. I have made the trip up there quite a few times to go prospecting, but always run into the issue of private property at all the places that I have wanted to go.

I will have pans, classifiers, a sluice, and hand pump dredge, and most importantly, a Minelab Goldmonster 1000, White's Goldmaster 2, and Fisher Goldbug 2 gold detectors. I will also be bringing my coin/relic detectors with me as well.

Do you have a stream, creek, or even a gully on your property? Ever been curious as to if there is indeed gold on your property? Do you have exposed bedrock or random rocks on your property? Why not let somebody poke around and confirm whether or not you have a placer deposit, lode, vein, or pocket deposits on your property.

By no means do I plan on getting rich doing this, and realistically, you probably shouldnt either. But its just a hobby of mine that I do to pass the time. I just havent been able to do a whole lot because permissions are getting harder and harder to come by these days.

Don't think there is gold on your property but have a slight inclination that your property is old? Well thats what the coin detectors are for. I whether its researching gold deposits, studying geological surveys, studying old maps for old homesteads, etc. I do it all as part of this adventurous, fun, but frustrating hobby. It really is a great time, and I have enough detectors and equipment for you to give it a go too. The only reason why it is frustrating is not because of not finding anything, but because of the lack of public property to do so. I have the locations to every historical gold mine in the entire U.S, and also very good at finding very old maps with homesteads on them.

A little bit about me if you're considering. I am in the Army, I'm a very trustworthy person and live my life following a set of values and morals. I respect all people and all property. I'm not out to tear up anybody's land or overstay my welcome. In all reality, you cant tell where I dug the holes, and you couldn't even tell that I was there. I am not one to trespass, or exploit somebody for financial gain. If anything of significant value is discovered, we would split it! :). We can discuss that upon granting permission.

Overall, I'm just trying to pass the time and hopefully discover some buried history along the way. If there are any relics pulled out of the ground that obviously went with the house, that's all yours! Something you can put on display to tell your friends/family about the history of your property.

I really hope to hear back from some of you. I REALLY hope to hear from people in Whites, Lumpkin, Cherokee, Hall,Dawson, counties and the immediate surrounding areas. Also, anybody that has a creek, stream or tributary that flows into the Chestatee River, Etowah River, Tallapoosa River, etc. Even if you don't have waterways leading to those and are in close proximity to those rivers or streams, there may be a chance that at one time, thousands of years ago, those waterways actually were on your property :). I am really looking forward to speaking with some of you. Please comment below or PM if interested. Have a nice night.

Good luck with it. I had a relative back at the beginning of the gold rush who worked on the original gold doom in Dahlonega. Sadly, he got sick and died in route out west.

You can mine the NF. There aren't many regs, mostly can't use mechanical equipment. Yours sounds like you may be good to go, but check the regs. I know you can piss off some trout fisherman when they come around the bend and you're there sluicing away.

If that happens don’t worry.
I can round up some Native American buddies to stare down the fisherman and they’ll leave of pure fear and guilt.

I got a pretty good iPhone app that tells you who the property owners are all around you. Is a paid app, but it’s great for hunting and sounds like it would be good for you to get permission from land owners with. It’s called OnX Hunt. This is what the app looks like if you are running an iPhone.
