All- my Honda has mower I’ve had for the last 18 years works well but the self propelled is not. Not a huge chore pushing it around as the lawn is fairly level. Could prob fix but I do not think it is worth it.

So now looking for end of season deals on an electric self propelled mower in the 40+ volt / 4 amp + range to mow 1/3 acre in subdivision. I typically mow every two weeks when lawn is dry to keep the hoa happy. I do not bag. Looking to spend between $400-550 and puts me in the range of Ego, Greenworks, Ryobi, Kobalt. Prefer having Ryobi as I already have their 40v tool line. With all the choices out there just seeing what ODT members have to suggest. I appreciate the suggestions. Could trade 6mm creedmoore towards the house chores if have something on the new side.

Recently made the switch to battery.

Found a Greenworks bundle deal which included the 25" 60v mower. I really like not having to pull a cord to start my mower. Also have string trimmer, hedge trimmer, chain saw, and blower. All do a fine job.

Love not having to mess with gas/oil/spark plugs.

I may be singing a different tune depending on how long the batteries last 'cause they ain't cheap.

Good luck with your choice.

The batteries is why I have not bought a mower yet. I cannot remember last when I changed the oil or spark plug on the Honda- prob like 16 years. Runs like a champ. I spend like $15 on gas/year. Batteries are like $150 +

Thanks for the advice.

I bought a Greenworks Pro 60V 21” mower 6 years ago. It’s ****ing fantastic. Costco had a deal for like $500 for a similar model. When this one dies I’m buying another. I have multiple tools that use the same batteries.

Register the battery for the warranty, and buy a backup. It ain’t cheap but self-propelled 1/3 of an acre will run out in about 30 minutes, which is the exact amount of time it takes to mow 95% of your yard.

The RYOBI self propelled worked well for me when I lived in a subdivision. I had the 40v trimmer, edger, blower to go with it. My one complaint was the grass had to be crisp dry and not to high as it would drain the batteries and then I was screwed out of using the blower. Other than that, it was a delight to just insert battery and go.

I think the newer version has side discharge which should help with the clumps and bogging down.
