How about a pair of mini 1911's?

Those things are very expensive....even without the engraving and plating. Beautiful!

After I bought this gun I looked up the engraver by his initials on the bottom of the trigger guard.

My wife and I ended up having breakfast with him and his wife in Billings, Montana. Really nice folks - cattle rancher turned knife maker/engraver. Turns out that Rick is one of the top knife makers in the world now and regularly sells custom knives for $8k to $20k... and famously sold a knife to an Arab sheik for like $100k!!

Apparently, when Rick was just getting started in knife making (late 80's) an Augusta GA police captain talked him into engraving the HK.
Rick laughed when he told the story and said he would not have taken the job except that he was just getting started and needed the money. He thought it would take three days. Three weeks later and 2 engraving tools later he finished! The metal on the gun was so hard it took forever and wore out his tools. Rick said that this experience turned him away from gun engraving and he stuck to knives from then on with the exception of a few partial engravings on some old Colts for his friends.
After inspecting the gun that I had brought with me ...he gave himself a B+ and said that it looked better than he remembered. He also wrote me a note saying this was the only gun he had ever fully engraved.

Anyway, sorry for rambling...it's just one of those rare things that happens sometimes when you buy a gun and start researching its provenance.

I hope I didn't sell it too cheap.

Too cheap? TOO CHEAP??? Probably shouldn't have sold it AT ALL--Unless, of course, you got one o' those proverbial "Pretty Pennies"--LOL!... :) ....mikey357

Kimber Ten II double stack poly .45...they only made these for a couple of years...

IIRC, the Frames were made for Kimber by Bul in Israel...Also, seems like the Hi-Caps were kinda' hard to come by for 'em--Most were imported/sold with Ten-rounders if my recollection is accurate...

I believe you are spot on. But when Para Ordnance decided to produce their 14/45 doublestack, 14 round mags became plentiful. Para mags work with a small alteration of the retention slot.

Will the para mags fit in my Springfield Double Stack? It came with two when I bought it but would not mind having an extra or two.
