Serious question about outdoor range!

Like if you're a cc holder and carrying, you have to unload and box your firearm before you step foot on the property and then you may reload it once your on the firing line.

Yeah, not sure that is necessary...

Trust me, I'm all about safety....check, check, check, and then re-check....always! However, I just feel that if I can cc everywhere else, I should be allowed to do so on a gun range....

I went there with a friend who is a member and we get there when he told me to take off my glock and unload it and pack it up...i thought he was kidding with me.

I probably would've thought the same thing. Doesn't make sense to me, but hey private club, private rules...

There are steel dueling trees at CMP on the pistol range.

CMP is about 2 hours from me and Charlie Elliott (only 100yds) is about 75 minutes. CE is like $21/year and CMP is about $25-$35 per visit, I /think/.

So, if you price it substantially cheaper than CMP I may come visit.

Oh I agree - about you, unfortunately everyone isn't so careful.
Which is why I guess they have that rule.

A big range like that is always one round away from disaster, especially in this day and age.

River Bend has been around since it was at Cumberland Mall area in the late 50's.
Pushing 60 or 70 years now, that's a long time.
I'd sure like it to be around so my great-children have a place to shoot, one of my grandson's already shooting there, others are too young yet.
Property everywhere is worth so much now it's hard to keep an outdoor range open....

Yeah, but it was alot of fun and i def liked it better than indoor range being able to move and shoot and set up your area as you like. Beats sitting behind a booth stationary punching paper next to someone that shoots ya cuz they had hot brass down their shirt...

You don't have to be a guest of a member to shoot the venues on the weekends ......

I looked it up. Indoor ranges will do similar stuff. But you stand around a lot more than ya shoot at those events

Have you guys shot at ranges much? I'm all for having as many people disarmed as often at possible at those places.

I go shoot at my lease. There's room to shoot a long ways. I already pay to hunt there, might as well use it for all that I can.
