Shoot or don't shoot?

I bought a Commemorative Edition Kimber 1911 a couple years ago. I attached Kimber's rendering of what the pistol would look like. It has the engraving as shown and my military rank and name. I have not yet fired it and was wondering if it was more valuable un-fired, fired or doesn't matter. My thought is that it has no collectible value to anyone other than a family member since I personalized it. What do you think and why?

Shoot it. Like you said, it will only be valuable to a family member. You might as well shoot it and enjoy it, then your heirs will be able to shoot it also. If it is inheirted unfired, it would probably stay that way.

My Dad left me a nice watch he wore regularly. My Mom gave it to him as an Anniversary present. I wear it daily, it feels like a very personal thing. I guess I feel like Mom & Dad are close when I wear it.
