Shot himself and the instructor.

trying to see exactly what happened. looks like a suicide attempt but then did he shoot at the instructor afterwards? didn't see an exit hole so I don't think he got hit with the one when the guy shot himself

I had to watch it six times and I still can't figure out what happened.

Looks like student was trying to cross-draw holster the gun or something?

Weird.

As I saw it he shot through his own left side which also got the instructor in the leg.

I was an Instructor in Benning at the Infantry Center in 65, they were short NCO's for the range and asked could I fill in for the day, a Raw recruit turned around (because his instructor wasn't paying attention)and hosed the control tower down on full auto. Thank God no one was killed, the Instructor in the tower had to handed down because he was shaking so bad he couldn't climb down the ladder by himself, and I set a world record of going prone face down. Never worked the range again. I've always assumed I'd most likely get shot in Combat (I did LOL) but I just don't won't to die in some stupidazz accident on a firing range

Good example of how a pistol shot, even to the high center mass rarely stops a man in his tracks. That dude had a lot of time left to fight after that center mass shot. This would be a good video to post in the next thread about "Why would anyone choose to use a rifle or shotgun to defend their home, it would be so loud and the muzzle flash would be blinding!" thread.
