Its been a while since I've bought shells, amd I'm planning to stock up today. I dont own an auto loader but I may in the future. Are there any brands to avoid due to feed issues? I'll be looking for 12g bird and buck.

Shotgun ammo

Its my understanding that a good shotgun won't have problems loading anything. I haven't shot any 00 buck but my 11-87 and 1100 has eaten everything from cheap Estate 2 3/4 shells to Remington Gun Club to Winchester AA and Winchester silver box. No hiccups. Now for some reason a used 500 Mossy I brought has problems with feeding high brass 00 buck.
Some Benelli's won't run the cheap bulk pack crap from Mao mart, are you saying that Benelli isn't a good shotgun?
"Some Benellis?" Is that specific models or specific guns?
Shotguns in general are extremely high on the list of being reliable.
Might not be a bad idea to 1st decide on what brand and model of auto loader you want and research it's spec's. I acquired a Benelli M1super 90 from a private auction and later found out it doesn't like anything under single 0. Just my 2$ ...Good luck on your hunt.
Go to 3 gun matches, what pukes the most......shotguns. Why do they puke? Cause people try to run the cheap crap thru them.
AA is really good. Rio (high and low brass) Winchester game loads. Remington Express ammo works great. I agree with everyone else as far as the bad ammo, although I shoot a Benelli Super Black Eagle 2 and can shoot just about any 12 ga shell i throw in it. But quality shells is where its at... certainly wont be bulk ammo. Estate 8 shot is terrible along with the federal target loads(watch out for the pink breast cancer awareness shells). Hardly enough powder in them for an auto to cycle..
