Love my 870... got it as a project and now it's a duracoated zombie killer... somebody had to say it. And I'll give the Knoxx comp stock a free bump- nice stock and the safety is in an accessible place for a pistol grip.

This! I sold my Rem 870 and got rid of the Mossberg a while ago. I now have 2 Winchester 1300's that perform much better.I say the rotating bolt "speed pump action" on a winchester 1200 and 1300 are superior to both!

Oh and I'm really not biased on my opinion as I've owned them all. Remington makes a fine shotgun and I'm really digging my 930SPX.
well I have all three, a mossberg that hasn't failed in 25 years and I have a remington 870 wingmaster that feels solid in the hands.
The 1300 defender is just soo dang fast.
The remingtom and mossberg have a umlimited supply of parts, But the 1300 may be hard to come by .
They all get the job done but the remington is built like a tank .

There are good and bad stories for each. The 835 has been great since day one. Sold the 1300 and 870. Have since added a tristar and a hawk, other than a few glitches in the first box of shells during break in, they have run a couple hundred without a hiccup.
Remington is what you get your 12 year old kid for Christmas, Mossberg is what men buy....
