I own both, but lit the feel, fit & finish of the 870

I only have experience with the 500. Never failed me. Used to be a police gun. Had to replace the broken plastic safety button, but other than that, has been a reliable tool.

Oh, and please don't come inside the home without an invitation...

Owned Mossbergs and Remingtons. Love the Remington's, hit more doves with the Mossberg. Would own nothing but Benelli's if I could afford them.

I voted Mossy, but honestly I had a 500 crap out on me. My girlfriend's brother's 870 also needed repair after one of his hunting trips. Both were easily fixed. I've never seen a 590 wear out and ran the one I had very, very, very hard.
