Should I fly back tonight?

Wait until tomorrow if you can. The worst of the mess is between the airport and where you live.

I expect a lot of it to re-freeze tonight.

If I fly back into ATL at 7pm, anyone got an idea of the road conditions/traffic at that time?

Is everybody staying home today?

My wife who is a flight controller hasn't been able to leave Delta HQ since she went to work yesterday at 5am. They're actually flying people and crews that are stuck in ATL, out of the city because all the hotels are full or charging such a premium (Hilton airport was charging double for a night at $300).

So I would stay another day and let things melt.

Damn hotel flippers

stay another night we havent finished looting your house

Wife IS armed, and the two older boys are pretty good shots, I wouldnt risk it Biker.

I even call before I come home and say "honey, I'm going to be home at this time, dont shoot me."

Plus the dog might eat you.

Depends.

Do you live near an interstate? Are you taking MARTA? Do you have a 4x4/AWD with decent tires waiting for you at the other end or can you hoof it? If you can take MARTA and then walk home or if you have a decent 4x4 at the airport parking lot with a drive home primarily on the interstates, I'd do it.

However if you have to go up 400, then no.

Traffic on the connector earlier today was moving. Looks like people were doing 30 mph or so. I saw yesterday they were plowing and salting the bridges.

Night time is actually a better time to travel, as I've learned. Fewer people on the roads. I just went out for a quick jaunt and all the idiots in 2WD pickups were being stupid and causing issues.

85 looks like its cleared up so darn near a straight shot to Norcross. Actually right now would be a good time to travel (assuming you had the vehicle to make it happen) because the roads aren't too bad, and no one has figured that out yet. Tomorrow traffic will pick back up and Friday will be a mess as people hit ice patches and crap.
