I come and go on this site forum from time to time. I Juggle two different hobbies. Buying, collecting, selling and trading guns and gear is one of those two hobbies. The other is building classic cars. When one gets burned out I fall back on the other. I drop in sometimes just to see what the current buzz is and to check the classifieds, but that doesn't mean I should be forced to leave a comment on current discussions just to get my post score up to the XXX required to use the classifieds. Last time I checked this place was called THEOUTDOORSTRADER and not GOSSIPANDSELL! Don't get me wrong, If you like to come here and talk with your buddies after work everyday and have your post score rise with out trying, that's fine. Just don't limit others that aren't big on chatting. You never know, You might come across the deal of the century from a noob posting for the first time. When conducting transactions with noobs or old timers, just use your better judgment. Your not forced to make the deal and that's why we have the feedback system to help us in making that decision. With that being said, I have enjoyed chatting, trading, selling and buying from many of you guys in the past and also look forward to many conversation and transactions in the near future.

Thanks again Okuma Steve for the OUTDOORSTRADER!

No that is the stupidest thing I've seen posted on ODT in a long time. It's a gun trading site, there just happens to be some people over 40 with no life who just learned about the internet and are here more than they should be. Sorry if the "noobs" are invading your personal space.

Not everyone comes here to talk, that's their choice. Quit whining about it and move on. You were a newb at one time too.

^This this this!! WIN

More rules and restrictions, just what everyone needs in their life, because the government doesn't do enough of this already, whats next limiting the price I can ask for an item, this sounds more reasonable anyway, I too have seen the $800 Glocks.
I'll admit I came here to be a one hit wonder, I sold my Sig Sauer the first day I posted it, but I stuck around because there are some great deals and good folks on here.

GLWS, GLWS, GLWS, GLWS, GLWS. Okay he has the post count. Now what?

We do not need a class system and we should be as welcoming as we can be. I don't care about the one hit wonders, but I do care about the lurkers who may be sitting on a pile of cash and guns. I don't want that guy who wants to buy and sell guns being turned off by a kind of caste system.

It doesn't seem right to me that a site which calls itself "The OutdoorsTrader" should impose undue restrictions upon anyone wishing to participate. Had it not been for the classifieds, I probably would have never joined this site. If there had been time limits imposed upon trading, I also would probably not have joined. The classifieds are the meat and potatoes of this site. All of the other benefits are simply pleasant, enjoyable offshoots that occur when people get to know each other after they are initially brought together through perusal of the classifieds.

If someone chooses not to trade with a nooby, it is their choice; but putting restrictions on new members isn't a good route to follow.

How many threads do we have about high prices? How do we bring high prices down? This is Economics 101 guys. More competition leads to better selection and better prices.

How many "wish you are closer" posts do we have? More members means there is a better chance of finding the gun you want closer to you.

How many ***** threads are started about "lowball offers"? Competition works both ways and more buyers means you are more likely to get a fair market offer on your item.

More members means better prices, more selection, faster sales, more trades, more offers, better proximity, and more gun porn. Why would we discourage this?

I am a noob and honestly don't see a way to evolve beyond that, since I don't have a gun collection I want to trade and only wish to buy a few additional ones. So trading here may never work for me BUT I will participate in the forums and leech info from those who are generous enough to share.
