***Shouldering braces***

Technically braces are still 'illegal' according to the ATF rule. However they have been barred from enforcing that rule, so it's a moot point right now.

Given Trump's EO directing the DoJ and other .gov agencies to report on any rules or procedures that could infringe on the 2A my guess is that rule will be withdrawn or heavily modified.

I could be wrong there though... Pam Bambi is no friend of gun owners.

They have been barred from enforcing the "rule" that attempted to ban braces. There has been no change in any rules regarding the actual use of them. I agree though, with Trumps EO and Bondi on top of it, maybe we can finally get this all straightened out. The only logical thing would be to remove SBRs and SBS and AOW from the NFA altogether and remove the barrel length and OAL restrictions from rifles and shotguns. They make no sense anyway. The whole reason they were put on the list in the beginning was because they were easier to conceal. You cannot tell me that a 10" barrelled rifle is easier to conceal than 10" barrelled braced pistol or than a Glock 17 with a 32 round mag for that matter. So much of the NFA legislation is outdated nonsense. On a slightly different subject, the whole reason as I understand it for the suppressor being on the NFA list was that people "might be" using them to poach game. After all, it was 1934 and the height of the great depression. They were worried that someone might be able to feed their family. There was never to my knowledge any big crime wave of people using suppressors. Now in many states it is perfectly legal to hunt with suppressed rifle. They should be removed from the NFA list.

Apparently SBR's and such were only in the NFA to close a potential loophole regarding handguns. Which the drafters of the NFA were trying to include. Fortunately handguns were removed from the NFA but the SBR clause remained because congress has been made up of morons for a long time.

That does sound familiar now that you mention it.

Not to mention the 200 dollar tax stamp represented a 6 month income for skilled professionals like doctors and lawyers
