I'm in the market for a roadster and on the fence with which one I want to buy...Porsche, BMW, Mazda, or one of the Classic British Roadsters. If you have one or had one, show it off! Some inspiration is in order! Bonus points for any in British Racing Green!!!

For those that are unsure...Websters definition of a roadster

“an automobile with an open body that seats two and has a folding fabric top and often a luggage compartment or rumble seat in the rear.”.....(2 seater hardtops should probably qualify)

Mazda, Honda, Lexus or Toyota would probably be a joy to own. Being more dependable than the others
Unfortunately Toyota doesn't make anything fun in a convertible any longer, if you want to buy a convertible Supra with a manual you have to get a BMW Z4 (Basically a Supra with a convertible top) I think Toyota is missing the mark with the GR86 by not making a convertible. But that car is basically a Subaru as well.

The Toyota would be far more reliable. I like that GR86. I don't really care for an open top anyway

In my opinion, a roadster must have a convertible top and a manual transmission. Anything else is just a sports coupe.

In the running are the MX-5, Porsche, BMW M-4, Corvette, or one of the classics, Triumph, MG, etc. Leaning towards the MX-5 it seems to be the best sorted for the task, not to mention the price is a lot easier to stomach for a toy.

You're right about the open top, just never was my thing

I looked over the field 8 years ago, the BMW M3 with the 6 cylinder fit the bill.

Course, I like speed and handling. mine was an 06, last of the 6 cylinder. Went V8 in 07, not nearly the same handling and less fun.

Add in the 6 speed stick, and good to go!
