Another reason I just drive my old ones. My Dad doesn't get it. Oh well, he ain't buyin either. I really despise the new vehicles. I knew back in the 70s this day would come. It took longer than I thought though. The newest vehicle I have is 20yrs old. I bought it new for @ $32k. To replace it would be @ $90k. I just don't drive enough to warrant that, plus I don't want to deal with that Blue Def. Mine gets better fuel economy tooToyotas aren't what they use to be now that most are made in Mexico.
Also had a Nardi Oak steering wheel and shift knob plus a few other features. This particular car was even more rare as it was equipped with a factory automatic transmission (I know, I know LOL).In British Racing green !!....They really need to make that color again.
The better transmission is debatable as many prefer Miata's. There's an Abarth locally and I'm in need of a commuter. It's the perfect color scheme and I think a gorgeous little car. If it didn't have that god-awful turbo in it I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The search continues...And if I get another one soon, it will be the Fiat 124 Spider Abarth- (Mazda MX-5 with a turbo and better transmission)
A Japanese built Italian Roadster.
Better color scheme-
Thank you. The Hershey swap meet would be awesome to attend, I have been to the L.A. Roadster Show one but that is nothing like Hershey. Was what I figured. Nice looking rod, done the way I like, 50’s style. I was raised up on early Ford v8 cars, been to the Hershey swap meet many times in 70’s-80’s
Too bad on the pictures. Sleepers are the best and I bet even with a stock 5.0 it was fast, I would imagine it had a pretty good power to weight ratio.Good looking rod..
Unfortunately no (digital) pics of the conversion. It was done in 2009 and I kept and drove it until 2011 when a member of the local MGB club decided he liked it more than myself. The idea wasn’t original to me, I had saw one built by another member of the club and took his conversion a little further by tubbing the rear. Absolute sleeper. Turned a lot of heads and was extremely fun to drive when you kept the gremlins at bay. Totally stock 5.0 other than carb and headers.
Nice Miata. Great stance on the '32, I see an overhead valve engine, what is it?View attachment 8254039
