Show off your Roadsters!!

I really like mine... well, I didn't like driving it Saturday. Still a little ice on the road. It's the 1st time I've ever driven it at the speed limit, that's not nearly as much fun.

I've looked at those, the prices are good on them for sure. Any reliability issues? Any issues finding parts?

Well I started on the classics. They are easy and cheap to tune. I can't imagine the European market prices. The American after market is not cheap so you gotta spending some major coin.
Just keeping it stock. The car has been in the family a long time. It was given to me. I'd never bought one with well over 300k on it, but the price was right. I've spent $12k on this car in 5yrs trying to get everything fixed on it. I knew from the start in was going to cost me money. I've only driven it @ 25-30k miles in that time.
I've always had an interest in them since I was a teen. And I do like driving it but it is an addiction. An expensive one in comparison. The build quality is excellent, but watch out for the constant maintenance and repairs. They are a different animal. I can tell you I wouldn't have been able to put up with the mundane performance as a teen. My Wife hates it, but she hates everything. How many cars have you seen that don't rattle going down the road with over 300k on it. That car is still solid as a rock. The clock even still works perfect. It's a 92

I let it sit too long, and it killed the battery...that's about it. It's basically a MX5, mechanically, except for the engine. I've had it going on 8 years, and never a problem with it. I can say with 100% honesty that it is more reliable than ANY CHEVROLET that I've ever owned.

That says a heap coming from a Fiat

I was about to say it that wasn't too high of a bar...lol
Certainly back in the day Fiat wasn't known for reliability. Just plain and simple. The car he has is a great looking vehicle. But from the first pic I saw of it, I was wondering. This computer age has turned out a lot of nice products though. The new Jeeps, Dodge and Chrysler are all owned by Fiat these days. I was told to steer clear of the new Jeeps by a service writer that worked there. Nuff said

wife had an S2000 for quite a while. Then an E46 M3 convertible w 6 speed manual. Fun car till the engine blew with 60k miles on it (just over the warranty and BMW said pound sand, hence no more BMW's for us). Now she's got an E550 convertible. Rippin motor, handles good, big enough back seat to take friends, and car looks good. twin turbo V8.

my dream roadster would be the BMW Z8. It's the only BMW I would consider owning in the future, but guessing I won't be able to afford one any time soon.

wife looked at Porsche 911's when we got her E550 but the lack of a back seat was an issue. Now that the daughter is driving, that might be in the line in the future. Or at least some version of Porsche. She's done the Panoz race school back when they had that, and the Porsche driving experience a couple of times.

My wife's Mercedes SLK 350. Has the automatic hard top convertible. It is a 2014, runs well, fun to drive, and bought used, very affordable.
