SHTF/Survival Guns

There could be all kinds of SHTF scenarios. If it's weather related and people are being generally nice, a 22LR would be good. If it's an enemy invasion, then an AR or AK is in order. If giant mole-people rise to the surface to enslave the human race, I might need a 50 cal.

My strategy is to just own one of everything so I'm prepared no matter what. It's the only sure way to prep properly.

Giant Mole People.....well that may change things.....

Dang!!!
How do you pack a BOB for Giant Mole People???

They can't see or smell very well so concealment shouldn't be too tough. They're very sensitive to light. I'd pack one of those million lumen flashlights.

My theory is that Bigfoot sightings are actually Giant Mole People scouts. Get ready, folks. They're coming.

.357 wheel gun and lever gun. Has the versatility to shoot .38 spcl and has enough whallop to get the job done.

Or you could do the same thing in .44 magnum/.44spcl.

now i will put this in my pack too. its mole remover. i will put a drop in my hollow points and seal em with wax

I've said it before and I'll say it again...versatility is key.

For SHTF long gun there is no better option IMO than an AR15(unless you come across an M16) with a 22 LR conversion kit. You have a .223 that is capable of both combat and hunting any game in Georgia(are bears game?). Yo can drop in the conversion kit and mag and small game hunt with the 22LR saving the larger, heavier .223 for more appropriate uses allowing you to put meat on the fire with a few hundred rounds of small, light ammo.

For the handgun, there really is not substitute to me for the Glock 27 with 9MM conversion barrel and a couple of mags. This gives you not only an absolutely dependable gun it gives you the two most common calibers available for scavenging ammo, and it does it without having to carry a complete second gun, keeping the weight and size component to a minimum.

Fortunately for me, wherever I go, my wife will go. So she will be carrying the AR15 and a Glock 27. I will be carrying an AK47 and another Glock 27. Or my Glock 30SF....I know, I know...stick with the plan dammit. lol.

.22 rifles usually have a 1:16 twist rate, AR-15's and .223 bolt guns have a 1:7 or 1:9 twist rate, and a slightly larger bore. I've yet to see a .22 Long Rifle that was accurate out of an AR with a conversion kit at small game hunting distances although I suppose there might be the odd, rare exception.

This!

No one gun is ideal for all situations-keep several and plenty of ammo-if i had to grab and go I'd take the Ar Ruger MK3 And airlite revolver first

You know good and well we'll be lugging around K-31's.....

Seriously though, I really like the idea of a M1 carbine and blackhawk in .30 carbine. However, my love affair with .45 acp and 1911's prevent me from moving along....so I suppose I'll wear two belts and suspenders to keep my pants up.
