Will a Sig brace fit on a standard Spikes Carbine buffer tube? I know that the web says it will fit 1.0"-1.2" buffer tubes, but I have read some reviews that say certain tubes it was hard to get on and other tubes it was too loose. Just wanted to know if anyone has run into these problems or can provide and info on this matter. Looking to purchase a complete lower and want to make sure the buffer tube on it will accept the Sig brace.

If the buffer tube has the groove and notches for a stock then no. It will fit with most "Pistol" Buffer Tubes. Secondly you should start with a Virgin stripped lower or a Pistol lower to avoid "Rifle to Pistol" ATF issues...

If your planning on buying a "complete" lower make sure it is a "complete" PISTOL lower. Whatever buffer tube it comes with should fit the sig brace..should being the key word. If it doesnt just order a smaller diameter buffer tube.

Will NOT go on a standard carbine buffer tube. It must be a pistol tube.

I used a Phase 5 tube without the foam cover. Its a tight fit but works great. They recommend using baby powder on the tube to aid in getting it in place if its tight.

New letter from ATF concerning the Sig Pistol Brace.

I believe so, it would not surprise me if the ATF is trying to reduce their work load with this decision. I for one will not build anymore SBRs, but I do see a few more AR pistols in my future.
