Sig Carry? Safe or Dangerous?

Actually, I think cancellation of the military contract will be what forces them to react now.

No how matter how much of these cases are 'smoke', there's definitely some 'fire' here as well, and I don't see how they can explain away the death of this airman from the information I've seen.

There is always more to these stories it seems. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as I “thought” the M17 and M18 versions were immune to this type of discharge - maybe not. What is the information you have seen? I can’t find anything other than “an airman was shot with his P320”. I’ve heard it was holstered, or that it was slammed down on a table, or that someone was shot by some else’s pistol. Below is from the latest article I read.

“The name of the active-duty airman, who was assigned to the 90th Security Forces Squadron, 90th Missile Wing at the base, and details of what happened have not been released.”

Sig will do exactly what they have been doing since there “it ends today” gaslight announcement….Wait….Wait It Out….ADMIT NOTHING. Looks like they are on the wire with out a net and willing to leverage the implosion of the company on the hope it all blows over.

IDs the airman. I doubt any objective facts will come to light until the investigation is complete….maybe

There are too many other options available instead of carrying a weapon if there is any question, that's ANY question, about safety. It might not be fair to SIG to opt away from the weapon because of rumors and Internet gossip; but it isn't the first time a gun has been shunned for those same reasons. A similar situation is why there is no longer a Remington 700 in my gun safe.

From what I've read he was running the Safariland ALS holster. He removed it via the forks and when he placed it on the table (still in the holster) it went off.
My question is: why would anyone remove a holster and lay it on a table with the muzzle facing them. That is not only pretty dumb, it is also a completely unnatural movement. It is just natural to hold it by the grip and lay it with the muzzle facing away. I smell shenanigans here.
