Sig Carry? Safe or Dangerous?

I just don’t appendix carry. Completely violates the first tenant of gun safety for me. Never point a gun at anything you don’t intend to shoot. I know a lot do and have no issues. Just not for me.

A gun placed in any IWB holster will, at some point, flag something you don't intend to shoot. It is an assumed risk when one decides to concealed carry.

Exactly.
Don't take that chance, go Mexican carry,

Place I use to work one of our undercover guys stuffed a Glock 19 in his pants, claimed a suspender button on the pants got into the trigger and as the report said “It fired and struck the base of my penis”. The ammo was 9mm Speer Gold dot. Reading that report cured me from any desire to carry appendix.

I’d rather it blow off a piece of ahh meat or upper side of thigh, than to blow into my groin .

No argument there.

But if the gun/holster a person is using isn't safe while holstered appendix, then it isn't safe in any position. We have an equipment and/or operator issue at that point.

The USAF crap sorted itself out...not surprising, since this REQUIRED some investigation and evidentiary research into the facts. The second this story initially broke, there were two known facts. 1) The M18's manual safety was disengaged and 2) the trigger was pulled. That's it. Now, we know that the initial rumors that prompted over 100 range bans were completely untrue.

With regards to appendix carry, you need to understand your system vulnerabilities. Most would be OK carrying a revolver or DA pistol that way...maybe even in a questionable holster because there is less chance of an "inadvertent" 12lb trigger movement from a finger, shirt, drawstring, etc. Many striker-fired pistols introduce more factors to the equation...if equipped with a light, even more so (especially if that light is wider than the trigger guard). I started to carry a pistol in the appendix position that had a 10lb DA-type trigger pull. Before deciding to carry a striker pistol in that condition, I practiced drawing it unloaded from concealment ...a LOT. I even did "some" unloaded reholstering. I've been carrying a P365 since 2018, and I still, to this day, holster the pistol first and put the holster system on second. Have I appendix reholstered a striker pistol? Yes. But I did so understanding and respecting every variable of that system's vulnerability.

Short answer...it's safe provided that you (A) do your research on the pistol and the holster you're carrying it in and (B) you dry-fire practice a lot with the system. Otherwise, carry something DA.

That's a lot of mental gymnastics to ignore the issues with the 320 platform.
