This was where my thinking led as well, but I have not found a decent P220 within striking distance for a year or so now. P220 mags do not seem to be readily available either.
I am keeping my eyes open however.

Pick a midel, say fudge it and buy it. I've been through every model if 220 except for a combat and the best p midel sig is the extreme. If I was you decide on s carry or full size and just have someone 9rder it
Have you tried GregCote LLC for Sig mags?
I love my sig 227! I think It is too heavy and big for a carry gun but it's now my bedside gun. 10+1 rounds of .45 is a pretty legit threat deterrent I'd say.

CK; I just checked them out, thanks. They offer an ACR P220 mag for about $20 and a factory mag for about $36. Since I am not buying all this stuff for a hobby anymore, I will get the more probable reliability of the factory mags. Again, many thanks
I am not familiar with the "socom" but am sure it is a good weapon. However, I am looking for a spare to go with my full size P220, hopefully with identical grip, feel and magazines
