Sig P365??

I really wanted to like the p365 when it came out, but I've seen so much conflicting information I decided against it. Seems that sig failed to work the bugs out before releasing them, and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Consumers shouldn't be the test subjects in my opinion. Sig's QC has gone down hill in the last few years.

Basically a "gen 2" will be good to go. The first ones has the issues with the firing pins, but supposedly that's been worked out. The ones with the X-ray sights are the ones to get. I'd buy new and you should be good to go.

I was wrong! Yep there is a1st time for every thing, and this was the 1st for me - you know admitting I was wrong. I thought for sure, by the 2019 Shot Show, at least one or two manufacturers would introduce a +10 round pocket rocket to go head to head with the 365. No one did. That keeps the 365 at the top of the capacity mountain for a firearm that size. What a disappointment the G43X turned out to be. An answer to a question no one was asking.

My P365 has a manf. date of 12/13/2018. It's had a combo of Hornandy Critical Duty 135 gr. +P and 115 gr Winch. white box totaling 300 rounds so far with zero malfunctions. I didn't clean it prior to the range either. Straight out of the box as it comes from Sig.

It's presenting none of the major issues so far (it does have some minor striker drag but not more than my G43 had). It was pretty tight when I got it and took me dry fire repping with it some to smooth out the trigger take up and slide movement. After about 20 minutes straight of racking the **** out of the slide, taking it on and off then drying firing (prior to the range) it was good to go (still had factory oil in it). I'm confident that mine will be fine. I see nothing that indicates other wise at this time.

With the 12 round mags in it I can run it AIWB with no printing at all and no discomfort. It shoots like a larger pistol IMO and is now my EDC as I can have 13 rounds in a pistol smaller than a G43 and with a back up mag of 12 I'm good. This was the first time I actually went and rented a pistol at a LGS to fire extensively to see if I really liked it. I put 250 rounds through the range rental in about 30 minutes shooting it every way that might produce an issue. I even ran it side by side with my G45 with Apex an trigger and I shot the same with both. They feel different but I was able to shoot the same so that speaks to the engineering of the P365. The rental ran great and it was filthy so I was sold.

The only thing I'm changing is the stock green front night sight. The rears are great. The green dot just doesn't jump out at me like the orange dot of Trijicon or Ameriglo so that's what i'm going to. That's what I have on all my other pistols also so it's just the preference of my aging eyes as the Sig factory front sight is perfectly fine for most.

MY honey has a 365 and I wasn't a fan because it was so small with the 10 round mags. We went to shoot it this weekend and I got her a 12 round mag, and man it changes it just enough to be comfortable.

I bought an X carry and side by side, it's had to believe that the X carry only has 5 more rounds. The 365 is a great gun and recoil is not bad for such a tiny pistol.

I have a 365 and heard that when sig designed the pistol they had three patents just on the magazine. I think that is one of the reasons we won’t see another manufacturer come out with a ten round sub compact anytime soon

I got to shoot the one I bought this weekend. Shot steel plate rack with it at 25yrds. Did pretty well for such a small gun. I was impressed. I’m not a great shot by any means, but I was able to knock down the plates pretty consistently with decent speed after a couple magazines. No issues. Definitely a keeper.

I have heard the "patented magazine" mentioned before. Let me say that I am just a little skeptical on that being an issue even if they have applied for patents on certain specific aspects. This is why: How long have mags been around? How many shapes and sizes and calibers and capacities? You got single stacks, double stacks, staggered, etc.. If Sig patened a stagger of 11.5 degrees, the next guy comes in at 12 deg or 10.5 deg. You think there is something special about the mag follower??? I just don't think that is really preventing anyone from going forward with a competing pistol.

Exactly. It certainly is not like patents have stopped this kind of thing before.......cough.....cough......S&W Sigma = Glock
